Hello my fellow Barokeans! Dave here, and I have had the pleasure of attending two shows this week, which is 200% more than I have been to within the last 5 months. I got to check out the Dodos, who I haven't really listened to before, and Broken Social Scene, who I haven't listened to recently. The Dodos show was at the new Bottom Lounge, which is located at Lake and Ogden. In terms of newer venues, Bottom Lounge is pretty cool. I just can't understand why they give glasses for beers. I'm not saying I want an 8 oz plastic cup, but who wants shards of glass in their kicks (or elbows), right? At least our friend Aaron got a new set of glassware for his upcoming 21st birthday though. The Dodos set was pretty solid and there were quite a few lookers in the crowd. Unfortunately my stalking efforts on Flickr have yet to turn up with any results.

Broken Social Scene was at a venue with a bit more history wrapped in it, the Vic. They are always entertaining and seem to truly enjoy coming to our City and having a good time. They played all the old favorites as well as some stuff from members' new albums. Lead singer Kevin Drew implored his crowd to "do the right thing this time" and vote Obama. I agree.

All that is Chicago

How about that baseball? Isn’t it crazy how the game works differently for every team. Cubs cruised into the playoffs, and the Sox won 2 games in dramatic fashion to clinch. No hatred here. I think I may be the only Cubs fan on the Baroke side.

I won’t hate until we meet in the World Series. That would be insane. Steve Stone predicted, back halfway through the season, that there is a “50 percent” chance the North and South side would meet. Could be headed that way. I could talk about baseball all day, but I'll stop here.

Cubs play tomorrow 5:30 against the LA Dodgers.

Sox play Thursday 2:30 against the Tampa Bay “Devil” Rays.

Whatever team, support it.

Fresh Produce.

It's been awhile kids, hope everything is good with you all. We here at baroke have been busy like a bee getting everything together for the new launch. Yessir, NEW LAUNCH. But before I get into that I wanted to share some fresh things that have recently come out.

First off, the Cool Kids came out with a new video for their recent track Delivery Man. Big ups to them, keep representing Chicago guys.

In other news, we recently got a pic from a friend who dedicated this picture to baroke. I believe this was done somewhere on the east coast but thanks for the shout out Mary!

Last but not least, I thought I'd give you a semi peak at the fresh produce from barokes next launch. You all know I couldn't give it all to you. Expect a fresh baroke coming to a mouse click near you. Stay tuned for more information!

In Keeping with the Olympic spirit and all, I have a great video that I found on youtube featuring prominent Chinese graf artists from the Shanghai area. The end of the video also freatures 21 grams, an experimental rock band. Pleasure for eyes and ears is to be had for all! Now go buy more shirts!
